The Mayor of Alcala Reiterates its Commitment to Tourism

The Mayor of Alcalá de Henares reiterated that the tourism projection of Alcalá is one of the main axes of action of the Complutense municipal government.

The Mayor of Alcalá de Henares, Javier Bello, had a meeting with several directors of hotels in Alcalá de Henares. The Mayor -accompanied by the Councillor for Tourism, Marta Viñuelas- reviewed with them various issues linked to local government with these establishments.

He reiterated that the projection of tourism in Alcalá is one of the main axes of action of the Complutense municipal government, with emphasis on the development of congresses and meetings tourism, which in 2013 grew by 143% over the previous year (from 600 in 2012 to 1,463 in 2013). Regional collaboration formulas were analyzed to achieve the promotion of Alcalá in different tourism markets.

Alcalá rooms offer totaled 2,801 in 26 establishments of all categories. There is one five-star hotel, four four-star hotels, and six two-star hotels. In addition, there are eight hostels (two-star most of them) and four Apartment establishments.
