New exhibition about storks in Alcalá de Henares: “Por San Blas, la Cigüeña verás”, where you can learn more about these graceful ambassadors of Alcalá.
Alcalá de Henares wouldn’t be the same without its storks. To learn more about them now you can visit this exhibition at Quinta de Cervantes (Vía Complutense 37, see Google Maps), until February 28, from 10:00 a 2:00 pm.
This exhibition is part of a larger project also presented, the “Environmental Education Plan“. “The City of Alcala de Henares, through the Department of Environment, has been working hard on various projects and activities in environmental education, in order to encourage all adults and children having the greatest knowledge on the importance of the environment for a better quality of life and achieve their commitment to this important task”, said the Environment Councilman, Marcelo Isoldi.
The new Environmental Education Plan is aimed at both schools, as well as the general public, with activities for children and adults, workshops, lectures, school competitions, routes along the river or Los Cerros, exhibitions, etc.
Within these activities schedule events framed within the Environment Week are included, which will be held around the World Environment Day on June 5, which this year will be focused on “Family Farming” to highlight the importance of production and consumption of near and seasonal products, or the Mobility Week, opting for sustainable mobility.
Also new is the Environmental Education Plan 2.0, available on the municipal website, complementing the portfolio for schools, and that will allow teachers and educators to access to a collection of downloadable activities.
All activities are free, you only have to register or reserve in the activity of your interest.
